Dear Cold Callers:
It's no secret these four steps are critical in every sales

First, you must get an introduction.
Then
you have
to hold a comprehensive conversation (the appointment). Next

sales process can happen. Yet, a strong introduction is a
sticking

face-to-face or over the phone.

have a mere 10-30 seconds to grab your prospects attention and stand
out from the competition. So, how do you open a
call?
You instinctively know an introduction like...
"Hi Mr. Prospect, how are you today?
This is (your name) from (your company), have you heard of
us?"
"Mr. Prospect? (Your name) from (your company).
Mr.
Prospect, the reason I'm calling today is to follow-up on (a brochure,
letter, report, email, etc.) I sent you on how we can (how you
help). Did you get it?"
"Is this the (job
title)? I'm (your name) calling from (your company).
We
specialize in (what you do). Did I catch you at a good time?"
These are terribly ineffective ways to open a call.
When you introduce yourself poorly you open yourself up for
rejection. Worse yet, you close the door to the prospects
you
contact... forever.
Transform an Interruption into
a Pleasant Surprise
There is little doubt
when you call a prospect that prospect is busy doing something
else. You have no more than 10-30 seconds to grab that
prospect's
attention and stand out from your competition. If you can't
do
that your prospect will get rid of you ASAP so they can return to what
they were doing before
you interrupted them.
Yet, when you know how to make that introduction the right
way
your prospect is pleasantly surprised. That prospect is
willing
to set aside time to talk to you. And that prospect is eager
to
hear more.

objections...

already have (insert your profession or business)
- I
need a (insert your profession or business) with this area of
specialization (one you, of course, don't have)

type of) experience

don't believe you

don't need this now
- It
costs too much
These objections hold you back and prevent you from getting
to the next step in the sales process.
